Stephen Prince

Stephen Prince is Professor of Theatre and Cinema at Virginia Tech.  He received his Ph.D from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.  Stephen has published fifteen books and numerous articles and essays focusing on film history, theory and criticism.  He was the book review editor for Film Quarterly for eleven years, and he has recorded numerous audio commentaries on DVDs of films by directors Akira Kurosawa (Red Beard, Ikiru, Stray Dog, Ran, Kagemusha) and Sam Peckinpah (Straw Dogs, Cross of Iron).  His new book project is entitled Digital Visual Effects in Cinema: The Seduction of Reality.
