AI & Creativity reading group

In September 2024, I launched a new research stream at the Digital Democracies Institute titled “Creative Labor, AI, and Democracy” (abbreviated as CLAID). As part of this research initiative, I organized and am coordinating a reading group focused on the intersection of AI, creativity, and labor.

The reading group explores historic dimensions and underpinning assumptions about technologically mediated creativity and asks questions about the influence of AI on creative expression and cultural production. This will include reading literature around themes like creative industries and cultural work; computation creativity; “learning” creativity; imagination and creativity; decolonial art.

I am documenting our conversation and reflections using Miro, a mind-mapping service. Below, you can consult the latest version of the group’s Miro board. The board is updated after each meeting. If you are interested in joining the reading group, send me a message.
